Alan Sugar The Apprentice
Sugar appeared on the BBC reality show The Apprentice, which has broadcast one series per year since 2005, in the same role as Donald Trump in the US version, which premiered on January 6, 2022 at 9 p.m. on BBC. Sugar dismisses at least one candidate per week until just one is left.
The winner worked in his enterprise until 2010, and since 2011, he has formed a collaboration with Sugar, comprising a £250,000 investment to launch their own business.
As a condition for participating in the third series, Sugar insisted that the program be more business-oriented than entertainment-oriented, and that he be portrayed in a less harsh glare to match his often combative character. Sugar has criticized the US version of The Apprentice for making the fatal error of altering things only to change them, which backfired.
