Sage Steele is an American broadcast journalist working for ESPN as an anchor and co-host of the 12pm (ET) SportsCenter. On some other role, she hosts SportsCenter on the Road, which broadcasts from athletic events.

Sage Steele ESPN
Steele began his career in television sports reporting as a news producer and reporter at WSBT-TV, the CBS subsidiary in South Bend, Indiana, from 1995 to 1997. From 1997 to 1998, she worked as a weekend morning sports anchor as well as weekday reporter for CBS station WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Her responsibilities included covering the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 events, and also local college and high school sports.
Steele worked as a sports reporter for ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Florida, from 1998 to 2001, alongside current “NFL RedZone” anchor Scott Hanson and former WFTS sports director and former SportsCenter host Jay Crawford.
In February 2021, she was given the role as a co-anchor for SportsCenter with Matt Barrie at 12:00 p.m. ET. She had previously hosted SportsCenter:AM at 6 p.m. ET before transitioning to noon.
She was dismissed by ESPN on October 5, 2021, for statements she uttered on Jay Cutler’s September 29 talk show about COVID-19 vaccine rules, provocative women, and Barack Obama declaring himself Black while having a white mother, similar to Steele.
Steele apologized in conjunction with her suspension: “I apologize if my recent remarks caused any problems for the organization. We are in the midst of a really tough time that affects us all, and it is more crucial than ever that we communicate constructively and attentively.”
